When the frenzy of Christmas is over and the last of the turkey sandwiches are devoured it’s time to look at what needs to be done to the house in the New Year. If you have a tiling project on your list of ‘to do’s’ here’s some ideas that can re-invent your interiors to great effect…

1) colour pop from wood

The small tiles effect seen against wood can really pop colours into the room in a contemporary way.  See our colourful Lollipop mosaic range against a wood-effect tile like Country Wood.

2) mix up patterned tiles for that ‘cosy cool’

To get that homely, cosy, country cottage look use tile designs with intricate patterns on each tile which mean you can really mix up the pattern combinations. This will make all the difference in defining a room’s vibe, in some instances they can be the signature style of the room above all else and they make your bathroom or kitchen more personal. With these kinds of tile options you usually randomly put together the patterns and create something quite unique. Whatever colour your wall – mismatching patterns on tiles break up conformity and adds life to any space.

Tiles ranges great for this are Coralli, Bohemia and the new hexagon-shaped Terra.

3) 3D effects brings out the best

The Matrix 3D ranges are more versatile than you might think and suit a number of coordinated styles of painted walls, wallpaper and furniture. They look great near a real fireplace, on a chimneystack or as a feature wall and can suit contemporary and traditional décor.

4) go large!

Larger tiles are becoming more popular, they are easier to maintain once fixed and, with improved accessible tools, are easier than ever to have fitted. The traditional style of 25x20s are being superseded by 60x60s which are more in vogue.  The Arkesia and Albania tile ranges are stunning examples.
