Cersaie 2017

The biggest tile fair in the world happened again last month, the glorious Cersaie in the even more glamorous Bologna, Italy!  The Collinson team headed there on Monday 25th September (also Mike & Jane’s wedding anniversary) to spend a hectic 3 days looking at a lot of tiles, here are some of the main themes from 2017 …

Larger than life:
The tiles continue to grow bigger each year but at over 3m long, they would struggle to fit in most homes!  A great option for architectural builds and large commercial properties, possibly even worktops, but not something we’re planning to stock just yet!

Losing your marbles:
Marble effects were very popular this year, from the white carrara effect with grey or brown veining, to the traditional marfil cream effects.  With the rising popularity of grey there were some lovely grey marble looks, new products like these will be added to our range in the New Year.

Diamonds are forever:
It was the re-introduction of Hexagon shaped tiles 3 years ago that kicked off a new trend in varied tile shapes.  The Chevron shape last year had disastrous reviews but it was the new Diamond shape that had us excited this year.  The ones we liked are about 30x20cm which will be easy to handle and minimise the risk of damaging the corners.  Look out for these in rustic colours from January!
