Everyone’s doing it and so can you with a little help from your friends at Collinson Tiles

According to a recent survey by Dulux nearly half the UK is planning on decorating when the lockdown is lifted.

And if you’re one of those 40% but don’t know your blocking from your brushing-out or your distressing from your grout, then let us take the pain out of decorating.

Adding tiles, to a room in your home, can make a real difference even if all you do is add a splashback behind the cooker in your kitchen or give your bathroom a stylish new look.

Here our tile experts choose their favourite ranges to, hopefully, inspire you.

Taking a whisk in the kitchen

Starting in the kitchen, our Iris Tile series is the perfect design to add a lovely splashback behind your cooker. With loads of patterns to choose from, these glazed porcelain tiles from Spain add a touch of vibrant colour and the rustic edge adds charm and creates a unique space in your kitchen.

And if you’re feeling brave, a big trend next year is to tile one wall in your kitchen from floor to ceiling. According to our team the Iris series looks great when mixed with a neutral shade.

However, if patterns aren’t your thing and you want a more urban feel, then tiling an entire wall in our Metro style brick tiles, really does make a statement. The range has flourished recently and with 17 colours to choose from, you’re sure to find your favourite shade. You can also look at using contrasting grout which are incredibly popular and add another dimension. With over 30 colours to choose from you can really experiment.

Take a soak in a beautiful bathroom

By adding tiles, you can transform this room into the perfect place to relax and wash the stresses away.

We have one of the finest selections of ceramic wall and floor tiles designed with bathrooms, showers and wet rooms in mind. Combine colours, patterns, textures and sizes to create your own design.

We’re expecting our Napoles series to be popular next year because its durable and looks particularly stylish when used in bathrooms. This series comes in a beautiful warm shade of grey and we think this colour will continue to reign supreme next year.

Heavenly living room

According to the survey re-decorating the living room has emerged as the nation’s number one post-lockdown decorating priority, with one in four (25 per cent) intending to tackle it first.

You don't need a traditional Victorian cast-iron fireplace to create a feature from tiles in your living room. A prominent wall is all that is needed to show off your beautiful tiles to full effect.

Take our Manhattan tile. It’s going to make a great statement feature wall in any space. Another great tile design for living rooms is Venato – a beautiful marble effect tile which looks great on a statement wall due to the smaller tile size.
